Canadian Hip-Hop Artist, K'Naan, Selected as Official Artist for the World Cup Trophy

Wavin' Flag: The Celebration Mix, a song by Somalian-born Canadian hip-hop artist K'Naan, has been selected as the official song for the World Cup trophy tour currently in Africa right now.

K'Naan was born in Somalia before moving to the United States and later relocating to Toronto Ontario, Canada.

K'Naan's song, Wavin' Flag, from his third album, Troubadour, was released last year in 2009 and will be traveling with the trophy through Africa in preparation for the 2010 FIFA World Cup this year.

Seeing a Canadian artist have an impact on one of the biggest and most important tournaments in the world is a big honour for citizens in this country of Canada.

With the Canadian National Team not making the World Cup since 1986, having a Canadian song part of the tournament gives Canada the opportunity to be part of this great and exciting time of the year.
